For those who wish to be a little more adventurous then why not visit one of Orkney's Northern Isles. Each island is completely different from all the rest and is a small adventure in itself.

Rousay is famed for its archaological treasures and Wyre for Cubbie Roo's Castle and the ancient St Mary's Kirk, both are just a short ferry ride away and a regular service operates from Orkney Ferries Tingwall Terminal situated in Rendall. Other Northern Isles can be reached using Orkney Ferries which sail from Kirkwall Pier on a daily basis. For trips to the South Isle of Hoy a ferry sails from the Orkney Ferries terminal at Houton.
